The Area
Mylor lies within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
and is perfectly situated for exploring Cornwall, sailing, garden
trips, creek walks and beaches. The village of Mylor Bridge is
about a 10 minute walk and has an excellent village shop, newsagent,
post office, butcher and fish shop (open when not fishing).
Sailing,
Maritime and Beaches
Mylor Yacht Harbour and Restronguet Sailing Club have been extensively
upgraded and offer cafes, shops and all boating facilities, including
boat hire and sailing school. We are close to the National Maritime
Museum and Royal Cornwall Yacht Club at Falmouth. We are well
placed to explore the surf beaches of the north coast and the
quiet south coast beaches and creeks
Gardens
and Walking Holidays
The stunning Eden Project and many wonderful private and National
Trust gardens, including Glendurgan, Trebah, Trelissick, the
Lost Gardens of Heligan and Lamorran are close at hand.
Footpaths from
the cottage are plentiful and the 13th Century Pandora Inn can
be reached by a 30 minute walk on a scenic creekside path from
Little Albion. Add the beauty of the Cornwall Coastal Path, the
wilderness of the moors and picturesque villages; it is a wonderful
place for a holiday.
Arts, Museums
and Culture
Cornwall has a rich cultural heritage. We are 40 minutes from
the Tate Gallery at St Ives and close to other art galleries
and museums. There are year round theatre, music and arts events,
at venues as diverse as the stunning waterside Minack Theatre,
churches and Hall for Cornwall .
